Feroz Ali – Founder & Group CEO

Feroz is a dynamic entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in New Zealand and most recently Canada. He is an outgoing individual who has a proven track record for establishing new businesses, mergers and acquisitions. He is an experienced director, with governance and advisory roles in both private and a government-owned entities, board member and advisor.

As the founder and CEO of Asia Pacific Education Corporation (APEDU) investment company, Feroz works to acquire and operate niche education investments particularly in the private post-secondary environment. In February, 2016 APEDU became the owner of Canadian Tourism College (CTC), a British Columbia based college with campuses in Vancouver and Surrey (Canada) and franchise is South East Asia. CTC is the longest-running college specializing in travel and tourism in BC with almost 40 years of producing job-ready graduates. Last year he acquired New Zealand’s leading research led Post Graduate and Undergraduate fine arts school called Whitecliffe along with NZ Fashion Tech and Computer Power plus a leading IT school.

Prior to founding APEDU in 2015, he spent 20 years in senior management roles in education in New Zealand. He is commercially astute and enjoys putting his early banking experience to use. Through his own ventures he has conducted business in countries like Canada where he resides permanently, southeast Asia, China and the Indian subcontinent.

Mark Worsop – Executive Director Whitecliffe College & CEO Skill NZ

As Executive Director for Whitecliffe, Mark’s initial focus will be on providing leadership for international recruitment, growth of our South Auckland operations and assisting the Whitecliffe board in future acquisitions and expansions overseas. In his other role as Chief Executive for Skill NZ, he will lead a new business/education venture through the forming of a partnership with Skill NZ, with a view to establishing and significantly growing skills training and workforce development provision, across a different range of education fields than Whitecliffe currently provides. Mark has worked in tertiary education for 18 years and has held a variety of senior roles that have included strategic and operational management, international sales, business and product development, and financial planning and management. Mark has more recently been involved in acquisitions, mergers, and new business ventures across Australia/NZ for Up Education. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive at NZMA, where he grew this organisation significantly through new funding, international growth, and mergers and acquisition. In the past four years, Mark was also the Chief Executive for Yoobee School of Design, along with five other PTE’s, and successfully managed the integration of the different cultures and products while also securing a highly confident, highly confident Category 1 EER rating for NZMA at the end of 2017.

Ron Malo – Chief Financial Officer

Ron brings 25 years of financial and management expertise. Throughout his career, he has managed the finances of companies in various business sectors, from manufacturing and distribution, to entertainment and leasing.  He has been influential in governing their growth and capitalization, as well as fostering change and innovation.  In addition to directing the firms’ finances, Ron is tasked in guiding and advancing APEDU’s portfolio of companies, by identifying progressive and expansion opportunities.

We advise on school acquisitions, sales, mergers, and also act for investors and sellers in the education sector.
